Introduction
Ocean Care Movement Center Somalia (OCMCS) is a non-profit environmental organization committed to protecting Somalia’s marine ecosystems and promoting sustainable coastal development. Founded by a group of passionate environmentalists, OCMCS aims to raise awareness about the urgent threats facing Somalia’s oceans — including pollution, overfishing, and climate change — while empowering coastal communities to become stewards of marine conservation.
Through education, advocacy, and community-driven initiatives, OCMCS works to safeguard marine biodiversity, restore degraded habitats, and support sustainable livelihoods for those who depend on the ocean. We believe that healthy oceans are essential for Somalia’s environmental stability, food security, and economic future.
Mission
Our mission is to protect and restore Somalia’s marine environment by promoting ocean conservation, combating marine pollution, and supporting sustainable practices among coastal communities. We aim to build a strong network of local stakeholders who are equipped with the knowledge, tools, and resources to lead grassroots environmental action.
Vision
We envision a future where Somalia’s oceans are clean, resilient, and teeming with life — a source of prosperity and pride for current and future generations. Through collaborative efforts, we aspire to foster a culture of environmental responsibility and ensure that our marine ecosystems are preserved for the long-term wellbeing of both people and nature.
